Do these questions have rational answers?
1. What's the difference between the Delhi bomb blasts in October and the Varanasi bomb blasts this week?
2.If the answer is,no difference, then why is there a difference in the response to these two attacks?
3.What's the relation between terrorist attacks and minority appeasement?
4.Can 150 million Indian muslims be blamed for the terrorist attacks?
5.Aren't Hindu extremists forces like VHP & Bajrang Dal,that talk about wiping out minorities, terrorists?
6.What's it about religion that prompts prudent, pragmatic, moderate individuals like Javed Akthar to make impractical rhetorical statements like these
"We need reservations for muslims because they are being discriminated in different parts of our socitey? When they are not discriminated they succeed, like in cricket and films."
Can these questions really be answered??

@ram,dude are the politicians alone to be blamed.are we citizens gullible, polarised and prejudiced to be taken for a ride by these politicians.
@srivatsan,agree with u sri on reverse communalism and congress’s pseudo secularism and minority appeasement but by referring to change do u mean voting the bjp back to power?

well my theory on religion makingus behave the way it does goes something like this.. if i tell a guy ahmed slapped ram they jus genaralize it to muslim slapping a hindu which sounds something like 250 indians slapping 750 indians and we react… which is exactly what terrorists exploit.
March 16, 2006 at 11:57 pm
well i think the answer to the muslim thing is totally politics…..well i have never heard of a christian or a sikh or buddhist minority….it is always muslim minority!!!
delhi v/s varnasi bombing…..
why dont u compare london v/s delhi or mumbai…..it is the news making ability of the city i guess!
March 17, 2006 at 1:00 am
@sukanya,interesting theory but very much the fact at times.
kaushik,i will agree with u on the minority part.as for the city i compared thoso two bcos in case of delhi the response was united but in the case of varanasi the response was extremely polarised.i guess that was since the attack in varanasi was on a hindu place of worship while in case of delhi it was a neutral market place.
